|
The Butterfly House, a division of the Missouri Botanical Garden, is looking for interns in their Special Events Department. Qualified candidates will possess a professional, service-oriented attitude, enthusiastically performing a wide variety of tasks, including: client interaction, development, project preparation and staffing of both during business hours and after-hours events. A Special Events Intern is energetic, flexible, punctual, and dependable. Primary Responsibilities: provide efficient special events support to directors and managers as a liaison between the Butterfly House and accounts/clients, coordinate major in-house events and out-of-house events with manager, research and proposal generation, client correspondence. A special events intern must be able to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays including evenings (as late as 10 pm) as this is when most events occur. |

| Qualifications |
Interns should be working towards or have recently completed a degree in Communications or related field with at least a 2.5 GPA. If the internship is for college credit, the number of hours is set by the college. The Butterfly House requires interns to contribute a minimum of 140 hours per internship. Interns are required to work a minimum of one four (4) hour shift per week and not to exceed sixteen (16) hours per week. The Butterfly House can be flexible concerning the number of hours and the design of your internship, based on prior written proposals with an agreement from the area supervisor. Interns are also required to complete a project (or portfolio) that will be informally presented to The Butterfly House staff towards the end of the internship. |
