This Architecture practise was established in 2005. It is a young, dynamic, design-driven practice with small offices and a relaxed working atmosphere.They are mostly involved with custom residential design projects – both new buildings and alterations. Most of their work is in the South Peninsula as their studio is located within the Scarborough Conservation Village, bordering the Cape Point Nature Reserve, an ideal base for exploration of their Design Principles. The firm prides itself in creating site-responsive  architecture, growing from & informed by particularities of climate, context and terrain. Responsible utilization of resources & materials create buildings in a manner mindful of site disturbance, energy usage & cost.They strive for environmentally conscious design principles & construction and commitment to meeting clients’ brief, whilst maintaining integrity towards design concept.The firm provides a personal service, maintaining a close hand on all aspects of the architectural process, frominitial design through to building completion. They are passionate about working within the environs of the Western Cape and have intimate knowledge of local landscapes, climate and heritage.The company has experience in dealing with foreign clients, and have the platform to provide clear communicationthroughout design and construction. As an intern working with the firm you will assist in all projects that the company are currently busywith.As their main scope is custom residential design projects, both new buildings and alterations, this is the areaon which you will be mainly focusing. SeaLevelStudio also assists with carpentry projects, furniture and masonry so you will get a very broad and interesting exposure during your internship period.
