I am from Ukraine - Can I sign up on this site?

Any person looking for work experience can sign up on this site and upload their CV. It does not matter where you come from.

I want to work in the fashion sector. Will I be able to find something here on Interntown?

Simply sign up and browse our database of internship offers. We have new companies and offers on the site every day. By being in our database you will increase your chances of being found by companies who are actively seeking to offer internships for students like you.

I don´t seem to get an answer from the company. Did they not get my email?

There could be different reasons for that:
- Did you send your CV to the right address? - check again the company profile. Please note that all emails sent to info@interntown.com will not be forwarded to the companies! You cannot apply to this email address.
- The companies get a big amount of applications every day. It might take a few days until they will be able to reply. If you are not sure if they received your email you can also contact them by phone - their details usually are in the profile.

Can you find me an internship?

Unfortunately, we are not able to find you an internship. But you can find one yourself! By uploading your CV you can then get in contact with all companies on this website. We have no influence on which student a company decides for. However, we know from experience that the best impress! - A clear and detailed CV is the minimum (find more details here http://www.interntown.com/how_to_cv.php). You have to show the company how serious you are about that internship - even if you "just have to do it as part of your studies". Prove them you are exactly what they look for!

Why not adding a Video introducing yourself? If you feel shy about it, then having a good picture always increases the chances of being contacted. We have found that most companies search for CVs with pictures than just plain CVs.

How do I apply for an internship?

You have two ways of applying for internships:

1. Do a search for internships and click on the “more info” button next to the offer. You will find the "Apply Now" button at the bottom of the page. This will send the company a link to your profile saying you are interesting in their internship position.
   
2. By clicking on the name of the company you can get contact details such as email address, telephone number etc. This means you can also send them an email and attach a document if necessary.

Add the internship you are interested in to your Interview room – this way you don´t need to search for this offer again and have all details with one click.

I cannot fill out all fields of the CV - will I still be able to find an internship?

Try to give as much information as possible in the CV section. It is up to the company what information they need and look for. Some companies might only be interested in the languages you can speak, another only in the IT skills you have - the clearer and more detailed your information - the better. Of course you can only provide experience and knowledge you really have.

I try to sign up but it says specific fields are not filled out although there is data in there!

The site won't let you save your CV/company profile if you filled in any field with signs like www, @, .com, etc. You cannot have email addresses and contact details in any field other than those specifically provided.

I signed up and filled all data in the fields - when I check my profile it looks all weird.

You filled in the fields by copying and pasting from other documents. Please type in all information manually.

I signed up and still cannot contact companies/students.

Your CV/company is not approved yet. It takes about 1 day for us to check your CV/profile and approve it. As soon as this is done you can contact all companies/students.

I signed up today but am looking for work experience a year from now - can I find something already?

Of course you can! A lot of companies on the site offer work experience all year around. You need to check with them if they would like to keep your details for an internship or if they prefer you apply at specific times.

Do I need a Visa to do an internship? Who will pay for it?

This depends on where you are from and where you want to do your work experience. Also, the length of stay is important. Please check with the company if they are willing to pay for your Visa (student Visa, work Visa etc.). You will also find information on where to get a Visa in the Infocenter section.

I am not a student anymore but also want to do an internship. Can I sign up?

Of course you can! Everyone looking for work experience/internships can sign up. Some companies only accept students, some companies also accept people who have finished their studies/school etc - please check with them directly if you can be accepted.

Do I have to find my own accommodation or will the host company do that?

Please check with the company if they offer accommodation or help with finding some. If they don't, you can find a lot of information on where to find accommodation in the Infocenter.

I found an internship through Interntown and had a fantastic time. Can I publish my Case Study on the Website?

We would be very happy to publish your experience on the website. Please have a look at the current case studies to know the approximate size we require and send your text and photo to Kathrin@interntown.com.

I want to let my friends know about Interntown - Do you provide a service?

Once you login you will find a "Send to a friend" button on the top of the page. You can fill in 5 email addresses at once and send the website to your friends or companies that you know. You can repeat this process as often as you like.

Do all companies ask for high marks or grades?

Today, high marks are not necessarily success indicators. Employers have become more selective in hiring. Most of the companies consider the whole personality of a student, e.g. personal skills, work experience, interests and leisure activites are important. However, some companies do require students with high marks. It depends on the company and the he competitive job market demands that you market yourself!

Yes.

How do I sign up on Interntown?

Please go to http://www.interntown.com/intern_register.php and fill in all required details. We then get an email and will check your profile to ensure there is no offensive content. We then approve your profile which usually takes 1 working day. You can start contacting companies as soon as your profile has been approved by us.

How do I search and contact companies?

Once your profile is visible online, you can contact companies in two ways. You can either contact them by email as you can find their details in the profile or you can use the "apply now" button, which you find under the internship offer. Once you click this the company will get an email from Interntown with a link to your profile.

You can search our database for the right internship. When you are logged in you can click on "view internships" to search for internships. Also, you can go to the home page and click on the "Search for Internships" picture or click on SEE ALL INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE.
